The day begins with a visit to Nubble Light, one of the most photographed lighthouses on the Maine Coast. The next stop will be at the Lighthouse Depot, the world’s largest lighthouse gift and collectible store.
Then, it is on to visit the Portland Headlight and learn why George Washington commissioned a fort at this point and ordered a signal fire to be lit. You will see the lighthouse on Rams Island as well as Two Lights at Cape Elizabeth.
Next, visit the lighthouse at Spring Point. Several lighthouses will be seen today, and you'll learn how the lighthouses are maintained and about the many chores of the lighthouse keepers.
The tour ends with a New England lobster dinner, featuring steamed clams, clam broth, corn on the cob, baked potatoes, and watermelon for dessert.
