Join Tye's as they travel to Providence, Rhode Island to Federal Hill (the Italian section of Providence) for a tour and tasting in one of Providence's oldest bakeries. You will see the brick ovens that are still used today for baking bread and pastry, and the baker will give you a demonstration, showing you the secrets of what he is preparing.
Tye's has arranged and included a tasting of the baked goods along with a hot beverage. After the tour, you will have the opportunity to shop in the Italian bakeries and pasta shops. Next, travel on to Spumoni’s Restaurant where you will enjoy an Italian lunch served family-style.
In the afternoon, board authentic Venetian Gondolas for a ride through the canals. The gondolas have been imported from Venice and these are the same boats used throughout the canal system of Venice. Your oars man will sing Italian songs to you; and you will have cheese and crackers and an ice bucket with glasses so that you may enjoy your favorite beverage. (Bring your beverage with you.) Each gondola will take a maximum of six people for a half-hour ride and the gondolas leave every 15 minutes with six passengers.
While you are waiting for your gondola, the bus will shuttle you to Providence Place for shopping or you can stroll along the banks of the canal. At sunset the canals of Providence will be illuminated by 100 bonfires lit to synchronized music.
