Tye's Top Tour & Travel was founded in 1992 by Mel Tye, who has 30+ years of experience working in the travel industry. Mel has worked for tour operations both large and small, in operations, reservations, training, product development, as a travel agent and tour director. He has developed one of the most intensive programs in the industry for training tour directors.
Tye's Top Tour & Travel is one of the only full service tour and receptive operators in N.H.; a member of the National Tour Association, American Bus Association, Merrimack Chamber of Commerce, and one of the few New England based tour operators that employ Certified Tour Planners CTP, Certified Destination Specialists DS, Master Cruise Counselors as well as Certified Travel Industry Specialists CTIS. All of these certification programs show their commitment to the industry and continuing education. The Certified Tour Planner is one of the industry's most difficult certifications to obtain with requirements similar to advanced college education.

As New England Travel Agents and as a New England Tour Operator, Tye’s Top Tour & Travel was founded as a tour operator and receptive operator, with the intent of bringing people from all over the world into New England and people from New England all over the world.
Their philosophy as New England Travel Agents and as a tour operator is that if a tour is not fun... and you do not get service... you won't come back as a customer. All tours are designed to give the maximum amount of flexibility while offering the greatest value for your vacation dollars. Tours are designed to be 1/3 information, 1/3 socialization, and 1/3 rest and relaxation. Tye’s spends a great deal of time menu planning, searching for unique restaurants that will provide local color, while allowing you to dine at your leisure. They provide structured framework, while also offering the option of independence for those that want to do their own thing. Tye's concept is that a motor coach is a form of transportation and more touring should be done off of the coach than on the coach. Tye's keeps groups small so that everyone has the opportunity to interact with each other and they can have experiences not available to the larger tour companies. Tye's staff is trained to involve the customer in as much of the vacation package as possible.
Tye's staff and tour directors are rich in life experience. Most have lived abroad, all have at least one college degree, and several have advanced graduate degrees. They are hired for their personality as well as their specific knowledge. They want to have fun with you - their guests - and love to tell stories and share their adventures.
