Overview
Kumuka is an African word meaning “the start of a journey” or “a moment of awakening”. Kumuka Worldwide are leading specialists in Adventure Travel and have been successfully operating exciting tours for the adventurous traveler for more than 23 years. Since their very first Trans-African trip, Kumuka has been focused on providing travelers with authentic and stimulating experiences of the destinations they travel to, while enjoying the value, quality and reliability they pride themselves on consistently delivering.
Kumuka's operation now spans six continents, where a wide range of tours focusing on culture, nature and active adventures, are globally accepted as some of the best.
With the accumulative knowledge of an enthusiastic and expert staff, Kumuka is able to map out more than 240 itineraries across 60 countries, a number that increases each year with the development of new destinations, activities and adventures for passengers.
Kumuka's growth has not taken away from their core values of low impact tourism, and all tours are conducted adhering to strict responsible travel principles. The destinations visted require a sustained commitment from staff, partners overseas and also customers to protect their fragile communities, cultures, economies and environments, and to benefit from the positive impacts of tourism.
Whether you are traveling solo, as a couple or with friends or family, Kumuka is able to offer a choice of tours to meet your needs. Passengers are generally young-at-heart, active and interested in getting to the heart of the countries and cultures they are visiting. Small, but diverse groups are usually like-minded in their ideals and find common ground in their enthusiasm, participation and what they want from their experiences. Kumuka offers age guides and in many cases grade levels to classify trips in terms of their comfort and activity levels but accept that on many occasions, suitability is not age-related. This allows you to choose the most suitable tour for your abilities and requirements, and to ensure you will be traveling with similarly focused group members.
